About Swift Penguin

Why these tools exist and who made them

The problem we're solving

Most trading tools are either locked behind paywalls or buried in platforms that require accounts, track your every move, and then try to upsell you on premium features. Bloomberg Terminal costs $24,000/year. TradingView charges $60/month for basic features. Even "free" tools like Yahoo Finance Premium want $35/month for what should be standard functionality.

Meanwhile, beginners get crushed. They blow up accounts because nobody taught them position sizing. They overpay on options because they didn't calculate breakeven first. They skip compounding math and wonder why their portfolio isn't growing.

What we built

Swift Penguin is a collection of free, no-BS trading tools and guides. No signup forms. No credit card requests. No "upgrade to premium." Just useful calculators that help you make better decisions:

  • Position size calculator so you don't risk too much on one trade
  • Live stock lookup with earnings, news, and fundamental analysis
  • Compound growth projector to see what regular investing actually does
  • Dividend calculator with DRIP modeling
  • Options profit calculator for calls and puts

Plus guides that skip the fluff and get to the point. Written by someone who's traded enough to know what matters and what's just noise.

Why it's free

Because good tools shouldn't require a subscription. The calculations aren't rocket science — they're just tedious to do by hand. Making people pay monthly for basic math felt wrong.

We do use affiliate links for brokers (clearly marked). If you sign up through one of those links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That keeps the lights on. But the tools will always be free and the affiliate links will never influence what we recommend.

Who built this

I'm a developer who got tired of paying for tools that should be free. After years of trading (some wins, plenty of losses), I knew what calculators I kept reaching for. So I built them and put them online.

Swift Penguin isn't a big company. It's one person trying to make investing resources more accessible. If these tools help you make better trades, that's enough.

What's next

More tools: portfolio tracker, DCA calculator, investment return analyzer. More guides: options strategies, tax optimization, risk management deep dives. Maybe a newsletter if people want it.

Disclaimers

Everything here is for educational purposes. Not financial advice. Trading and investing carry risk — you can lose money. Always do your own research. The calculators assume you know what you're doing with the numbers. Past performance doesn't predict future returns. Don't trade with money you can't afford to lose.

Affiliate disclosure: Some broker links are referrals. We earn a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you. We only recommend brokers we'd use ourselves.
